Donnie Wahlberg's Plane Skids Off Las Vegas Runway; He Credits Pilots
Photo: Fox NewsA private jet carrying actor Donnie Wahlberg skidded off a runway at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas and hit a fence, and Wahlberg said afterward that the pilots saved the passengers' lives. The incident followed his final show in Las Vegas. Wahlberg shared video from the scene and thanked the pilots for avoiding a serious disaster, also saying God covered those aboard. Air traffic control audio of the emergency has since been obtained, in which a voice believed to be the pilot can be heard. The articles do not say how the plane came to leave the runway, whether anyone was hurt, or what any investigation will find.
Alternative sources lead differently: The Hill centers on Wahlberg's own words crediting the pilots and God, while TMZ focuses on the air traffic control audio and describes a narrow escape. Left-leaning CBS News also leads with his thanks to the pilots for avoiding a serious disaster. Right-leaning Fox News emphasizes his video from the scene, the setting after his final Vegas show, and his praise of both God and the pilots. All sides agree on the basic event and on Wahlberg's gratitude; they differ mainly in emphasis.
How the sides differ Left sources stress Wahlberg thanking the pilots; alternative sources add his faith remark and air traffic control audio; right sources note his video and his final Vegas show.
